• Career and Technology (CTE)

Career and Technology Education (CTE) is composed of a series of programs which introduce students to real world careers. In 2000, the Fort Mill School District implemented a comprehensive high school model for CTE courses. In this model, CTE courses are infused into the total high school curriculum. This allows all students to be able to easily participate in CTE courses.  These courses offer exceptional content, utilize state-of-the-art equipment and technology and engage in hands-on real world projects and activities.

Students who take three (some must be four) courses in a program area are considered “completers” and are eligible to wear a special cord at graduation.  Many of these students participate in internships and/or apprenticeships during their capstone course. Some students also earn portable certifications in their program area.

The following CTE programs are offered to all Fort Mill School District high school students:

    • Accounting
    • Animal Science
    • Automotive Technology
