How Budgeting Drives Academic Achievement
-
Strategic Staffing & Compensation Investments: Budget allocations established a $54,500 starting teacher salary with Step 30 adjustments to retain high-caliber staff and added 46 new certified teachers to optimize class sizes.
-
Strategic Budgeting for Instructional Coaches: The addition of elementary and middle school math coaches allow for embedded coaching for our teachers. This had lead to gains in SC Ready math scores.
-
Strategic Budgeting for Special Services Support: Significant investments have been made in Special Education teachers and assistants. Our board has also added special services coaches to assist our teachers with coaching and professional development. This has increased teacher retention and academic results.
-
District Curriculum Coordinators: Adding district-level curriculum coordinators in core subjects ensures curriculum fidelity, alignment with state standards, and data-driven instruction to maximize student achievement across all campuses.
