FMSD Leap Ahead Program
The LEAP program "Learning Experiences And Parenting" is a Family Literacy program designed for parents and their children who live in the Fort Mill School District. We encourage parents as their child’s first and most important teacher. We offer services that support families and help prepare preschool children for school success.
Learning Packets
LEAP offers a monthly themed activity bag that includes a children's book, a hands-on art project, and family engagement resources designed to promote early literacy, language development, creativity, and meaningful parent-child interactions at home.
LEAP Family Night and Morning Group Meetings
Group meetings are available for families with preschool children. Our parent-child group meetings provide opportunities for families to participate in interactive learning experiences together. Sessions focus on supporting early childhood development through literacy activities, play-based learning, social interaction, and family engagement while helping parents learn strategies they can use at home to support their child's growth and school readiness. The group meetings are held at Riverview and Orchard Park Elementary Schools.
Family Resources
We direct families to resources - medical, educational, and other needs. We refer children to preschool programs within our school district and outside the district. We direct adults to Adult Education classes for GED and English Classes.
