PROOF OF RESIDENCY
State law requires that all students attending Fort Mill School District (York4) be legal residents of the district. Generally, to be legal resident, a student must be living with a parent or legal guardian who resides within the boundaries of our school district and possesses appropriate custody documents. At the time the student is registered, parents / guardians will be required to provide a minimum of one document for verification of residency.
Registration of a student who is not a resident as defined above is a fraudulent act. Any student found to have been fraudulently registered will be dropped from the district rolls immediately. District policy requires that parent/guardians making a fraudulent registration, be charged tuition for the period of time the fraud occurred.
VERIFICATION REQUIRED FOR PROOF OF RESIDENCY:
Renters:
____ original copy of current lease with renter’s name, address and phone number
____ dated rent receipt with renter’s name, address and phone number
Homeowners:
____property deed with homeowner’s name and address
____certificate of occupancy with homeowner’s name and address
____property tax receipt/bill with homeowner’s name and address (not vehicle tax record)
____official bank closing statement with homeowner’s name and address
Residing with someone:
____ Notarized Residency Verification (form) from homeowner along (Parent/guardian along with children) with a minimum of one of the following:
____property deed with homeowner’s name and address
____certification of occupancy with homeowner’s name and address
____property tax receipt/bill with homeowner’s name and address (Not a vehicle tax record)
____official bank closing statement with homeowner’s name and address
