Reporting Threats and Other Concerns
Students, parents, and other community members often may be aware of potential threats or disruptive acts before they are known to school officials. You are strongly encouraged to report such information so that it can be fully investigated and acted upon as necessary.
Information can be reported in a variety of ways, including the following:
- School Personnel: Information can be reported to any school district employee, who will ensure the appropriate personnel are notified for follow-up.
- Law Enforcement: Information can be reported to local law enforcement officials, who will notify the district and initiate an investigation.
- Web/App-Based Reporting: Information can be reported anonymously through the District’s tip line. A link to the tip line is located at the top right of the District’s website, as well as each school’s website.
- Crime Stoppers of York County: Information can be reported to Crime Stoppers of York County by telephone or online. The Crime Stoppers website has a section specifically for reporting school-related threats and bullying. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information leading to an arrest.
Social media is a wonderful tool when used properly. It is not, however, the best way – or even an effective way, to report school threats. Social media often results in spreading of rumors that unnecessarily cause fear and confusion.
If you have information of concern, please report it to school officials, the police, or Crime Stoppers. Please do not circulate the information until the proper authorities have had the chance to investigate. We take every threat seriously, and each threat is fully investigated.
