Goals Based Evaluation (GBE) and Student Learning Objectives (SLO)

Competence-Building Goals Based Evaluation (CB-GBE) is for a teacher with two or more years of teaching experience that the building administrator recommends for more rigorous evaluation based on a review of student growth data and/or professional performance. The building administrator and district work together to take over the teacher’s GBE goals for targeted professional growth and development intended to build competence in up to three standards. 

Continuing Formative Goals Based Evaluation (CF-GBE) is the evaluation system for teachers in their certificate renewal year or at the midpoint of a 10-year National Board certificate. This is part of the new Expanded ADEPT Evaluation system.

Goals Based Evaluation (GBE) will use the Teacher Professional Growth and Development Plan format. Use the Classroom Mosaic link above to access your GBE.

SLO Teachers: Teachers who write SLOs do not need to complete additional GBEs unless requested by their administrators. Instead, the Teacher Professional Growth & Development Plan contained within the Student Learning Objective (SLO) serves as the GBE. 

Non-SLO Teachers: For teachers who do not complete SLOs, a stand-alone GBE process should be used. This can be accessed by logging in to Classroom Mosaic.

1. Professional Goal: What do you want to work on?
2. Strategies to Support Goal: What actions will you take to meet that goal?​
3. Professional Performance Children First Standards: What teaching standards are supported by your goal?

   •  ADEPT Performance Standards for Speech Language Therapists
   •  ADEPT Performance Standards for Library Media Specialists
   •  ADEPT Performance Standards for School Guidance Counselors
