2024-2025 Teacher and Support Staff of the Year Announced
At the Engaged 2 Learn conference meeting held Friday, August 2, the district announced the selection of the 2024-2025 District Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Employee of the Year
At the Engaged 2 Learn conference meeting held Friday, August 2, the district announced the selection of the 2024-2025 District Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Employee of the Year.
Jocquin Fuller, the Band Director at Fort Mill Middle was selected as the district’s 24-25 Teacher of the Year. Mr. Fuller graduated from Winthrop University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a master’s degree in Conducting. He serves as a mentor teacher for Winthrop University, the Fort Mill School District, and the NCMEA. Mr. Fuller is the chairman for the SC Band Director’s Association’s concert festival. He is National Board Certified.
Heather Aiazzi, a Mental Health Counselor at Fort Mill Middle School, was selected as the district’s 2024-2025 Support Staff Employee of the Year. Ms. Aiazzi graduated with a M.S. Ed. in Child Psychology at Duquesne University and Ed.S. in School Psychology from Penn West California University. Ms. Aiazzi has worked in schools for more than 16 years, both in Maryland and in Rock Hill and Fort Mill school districts. She has previously served the community as the walk chair for the first American Foundation for Suicide Prevention “Out of the Darkness Community Walk” in York County. She recently moved to Pleasant Knoll Middle, where she continues to serve as a Mental Health Counselor.
“We are proud to present the Teacher and Support Staff of the Year awards to Mr. Fuller and Ms. Aiazzi. Their dedication and hard work exemplify the excellence we strive for in our district,” said Superintendent Dr. Chuck Epps. “What makes this years’ honorees particularly special is that they both come from the same school, highlighting the exceptional environment at Fort Mill Middle School and throughout our district.”
