One School One Book

Our One School, One Book, month-long event kicked off with interactive assemblies for all grade levels hosted by the related arts and literacy departments. The youngest child in your family at OPES brought home a copy of the book titled, The Boy That Biked The World.

We hope your family will read this together and enjoy discussing themes of travel, acceptance of others, believing in oneself even when others don't believe in you and having the grit to see a goal to completion.

Inside the front cover of the book, you will find a reading calendar. Each day at school, students will be learning from OPES staff, students, friends and family about different parts of the world and discussing the book together.

You can find many resources on our dedicated OSOB website. Resources include:

  • the daily reading calendar,
  • audio recordings of each chapter,
  • daily trivia questions,
  • links for students to send questions to the author,
  • postcards received and
  • information about our family event coordinated by the special services department at OPES on Sunday April 16th from 4-6 pm.

Happy Reading!
